About the Training Program

Applications are invited for hands-on training in Biological Electron Microscopy at the Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Facility (SAIF), AIIMS, New Delhi.

The training course provides comprehensive laboratory training in:

• Biological specimen preparation
• Ultramicrotomy
• Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
• Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)
• Cryo-Transmission Electron Microscopy
• Immuno-Electron Microscopy
• Imaging and analysis techniques
• Energy-Dispersive X-ray Microanalysis (EDS/EDX)
• Introductory Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM)
• Introductory Super-Resolution Microscopy (SRM)

The program combines classroom lectures by experienced scientists with hands-on laboratory practicals. Participants will also have opportunities to discuss daily topics and research-related problems with instructors in a relaxed learning environment.

Eligibility

• Ph.D./MD or M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences
• Minimum one year of research experience
• Applicants must clearly state the nature of their current research project in up to 200 words
• Applicants must explain why the training is necessary for pursuing their further research
• The research statement must be attested by the Ph.D. Supervisor / Principal Investigator / Head of the Department
